Description

Learn the art of roti stretching from a Roti Master. Discover the techniques to make the perfect dough, and then learn how to flip the roti for basic stretching. From there, learn all the different ways to work the roti into shapes and styles like the many ways served at Kafe Kooks. While others are making roti, enjoy a five-course dinner. Arrive at 6:00 PM, then after drinks are served and initial speeches are made, kick off the classes from around 6:15 PM. The restaurant seats around 30 people and the classes are held around the main front service counter. Do the actual classes in groups of 8, give or take. While one group is doing the class the rest of the room is enjoying dinner and drinks. The class focuses on learning the art of stretching roti to make Roti Paratha, which is the bases of all roti dishes. Once all groups have completed their turn, the Roti Master will remain at the bench showing the way to make the many different forms of roti on the menu - Sarang Burung, Coin, Bambu to name a few. This is also the perfect time for anyone to go up and have a one-on-one lesson with him and he is always happy to answer any questions you might have.
