My son, my sister and I had a nice lunch today. We sat outside and enjoyed our food and drinks. It was a perfect day. Great food, friendly service and a football game on the huge outdoor screen.
Not pretentious, which is so refreshing for Avalon. Best thing management ever did was remove the playground. I know so many people that go A LOT more now that it's gone. Cool RSL vibe and nice beer garden to sit and have a beer but top tip, don't eat here just go for drinks. For some reason the kitchen simply cannot get a handle on the art of cooking.
★★★★★ Seldom does one sit in a pub and bask in such genuinely intoxicating ambience. Avalon Beach RSL is one of those rare places that reminds you what a great local club should feel like. The beer is always cold, the staff are always smiling, and the locals are the sort of people who welcome newcomers and visitors as if they’ve known them for years. I came down for the weekend after hearing rumours about a great little club by the beach. To say I wasn’t immediately impressed when I arrived would be the understatement of the century — from the moment I walked in, the place had an atmosphere that’s hard to describe but impossible not to appreciate. What truly stood out was the hospitality. The General Manager even took time out of his day to show me around and introduce me to members of the community. That kind of personal touch is incredibly rare these days and speaks volumes about the culture of the club. I haven’t felt so at home in a venue in a very long time, and I find myself thinking about Avalon RSL almost daily. While I may not be able to visit as often as I’d like, it’s safe to say a small part of my heart will always belong to that little slice of heaven and the wonderful staff and community that make Avalon Beach RSL so special.
