No9 Springfield Potts Point

This is a hotel where you can hear every step of every guest, in the room above you, and each step on the stairway. In fact I am now listening to the wondeful tunes by my neighbours above me. Hotel could improve by investing in insulation between roofs and floors of rooms - alot of it. But a lot of promise after that. Staff are great.
My partner and I stayed at No9 for our anniversary, for two people that work in the hospitality industry we blown away. For starters the room was amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spacious and clean with a good air conditioning system, fridge and tv. We also found the location easy and close to transport and the harbour. However what really truely made our stay for us was the receptionist Lewis, this guy is next level. From the minute we walked in not only was he extremely helpful but very personable. He constantly recommended incredible spots for us to try on our stay and even provided extra towels when we needed them. We found ourselves constantly stopping at reception on our way in and out just to have a lovely conversation with Lewis. 10/10. Thank you to Lewis and the incredible team here who went the extra mile to make our trip so special it meant a lot!
I most likely wouldn't return. Very old rundown rooms, tiny bathrooms, and rooms not serviced daily, even though we put the sign on the door and also asked for it to be done. We stayed 4 nights. We booked online, received notification from the hotel, which was good, but zero notification that there was building work going on. Noise throughout the day up u til 5 pm. No sleep in from travelling. Location is great, easy walk to Kings Cross Station, and easy 15/20 minute walk to the Botanical Garden, Sydney Harbour and Opera House. Staff were friendly, except for one, it was like he simply couldn't be bothered.
I've stayed at De Vere and the McLeay and No 9 beats them all. Comfy and quiet. Particularly good concierge service. The Building has nice architectural features. Maybe Georgian and well appointed. Reverse cycle aircons, wifi and a lift to first three of four floors. If you want to stay in the heart of Sydney, look no further. Small bathroom but nothing compared to some budget hotels in London or Paris. I stayed late December and never saw a cockie.
