When I heard that Bentley's final service will be on 29 August, I have to book for one last time before it closes its door for good. There has been a change in the menu, which now only caters for either a 5 course or a 7 course tasting menu. Wine parking is also available. I made a reservation for a special birthday evening, and we picked a 5 course tasting menu. The menu was curated with a compilation of its most celebrated dishes to commemorate its 20 years of service . Each course on the tasting menu had the year printed at the end to show when it was first created. I was very impressed with the kangaroo striploin because it was so tender and the pepperberry added a fragrant and flavoursome bite to this entree. The Jamon sauce in the Murray cod was also super delicious, though I would prefer the cod to be steamed just for 30 seconds more as I found it a little under. The dry aged duck was perfectly rendered and the skin was still crispy when it came out on the table, which very often did not happen at all. Service was impeccable with all servers very attentive and even remembered instructions of when we wanted coffees to be served. The only downside was the seating being a little too crowded, maybe because it was closing its door shortly, the restaurant wanted to squeeze in as many tables as possible. However, with $195 or $260 pp depending on the tasting menu one picked, there came a certain expectation for patrons on seating arrangements. I felt it was a fine dining place but with a bistro seating, the 2-seater table was so small that I saw my neighbouring couple with a 7-course menu had their table practically full of plates and glasses as the brioches and entrees all came at once. The restaurant was also very dark with too many steps, which I almost tripped over at the entrance. So beware. All in all, a pleasant experience for the occasion, and sadly it's drawing down its curtains to a close in a few weeks' time.

This was my second visit, and I chose Bentley restaurant+Bar for my birthday dinner. Just like last time, the food, presentation, and service were all wonderful, and it’s definitely a restaurant I’d love to come back to again. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

We recently went to Bentley for a corporate lunch hosted in one of their private rooms. I hadn’t been back in quite some time, so it was great to experience it again, especially with the new chef. The menu was beautifully curated and the food was impeccable throughout. The duck was excellent, and the seafood was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. We also had a cheese platter and it’s worth mentioning that the cheese was served at the correct temperature, which so rarely happens. It made a real difference and showed the attention to detail in the kitchen. Service was fantastic. The staff looking after us were friendly, professional and very attentive without being intrusive. It made the lunch feel relaxed and well paced. It’s also a great venue for a corporate lunch, especially with the private room setup. After this experience I’d definitely love to come back properly for dinner. Thank you again to the team for such a wonderful afternoon.

📍Is This Sydney’s Most Artistic Dining Experience?⬇️ Save this for your fine dining list 🍷✨ Dining at Bentley Restaurant + Bar feels less like dinner… and more like stepping into culinary theatre. Every dish arrives as art on a plate — thoughtful, bold, and beautifully composed. The menu celebrates Australian native ingredients in ways that genuinely surprised me. Flavour combinations I would never imagine working together somehow create perfect harmony. One unforgettable standout? The starter with smoked eel cream, black brioche and kombu 🖤 Deeply savoury, rich and complex — yet perfectly balanced. I had never tasted smoked eel cream before, and it completely redefined my expectations. It was daring, elegant and unforgettable. The black bread with eel butter was a flawless opening act. The entrées were refined and expressive. The steak as a main — flavour-packed, expertly cooked, and plated with precision. What makes Bentley special is its confidence. It pushes boundaries without losing elegance. It challenges your palate in the best possible way — bold, innovative, yet always controlled. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet welcoming, and the service is warm, attentive and seamless throughout. This is a place for those who appreciate high standards, creativity and true culinary craftsmanship. Would you choose safe and familiar… or bold and boundary-pushing? 🍷🔥 #SydneyDining #FineDiningSydney #BentleyRestaurant #CulinaryArt #GourmetExperience

Dessert was the highlight. The other dishes were fairly average — not something that would strongly draw me back. The food could have been served a little warmer, as the duck was almost slightly cold. Presentation was not impressive, and there was no complimentary bread offered. We ordered the King George Whiting for entrée, followed by the Murray Cod and Duck Breast for mains, and finished with the chocolate dessert.
