Could not have asked for anything more for our one night hotel stay. The staff were super friendly and attentive and went out of their way to make us feel special. The room was lovely and comfortable every detail well considered and thought through. Had dinner in the restaurant downstairs (Saint Peter) and each dish was delicious as was the breakfast the next morning. Cannot recommend the whole experience more highly.
I genuinely cannot recommend the Grand National Hotel highly enough. I lived here for several months when I first moved to Sydney, and what could have been a stressful transition became one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve ever had because of this incredible team. From the moment I arrived, every single staff member made me feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and at home. Their kindness, warmth, and attention to detail went so far beyond anything I have ever experienced at a hotel. They consistently went above and beyond, even upgrading my room whenever availability allowed at no extra charge. It was never expected, but it was just one of the many ways they made me feel valued as a guest. One of the things I’ll cherish forever is something I’ve never experienced anywhere else. The staff surprised me with teddy bears, and every single day they would move them around my room, dress them up in different outfits, and create the cutest little scenes. After long days at work, I couldn’t wait to come back and see what my teddy bears had been up to that day. It became something I genuinely looked forward to and brought a smile to my face every single evening. It may seem like a small gesture, but it meant the world to me and perfectly captures just how thoughtful, caring, and fun everyone at the Grand National is. I’m incredibly picky when it comes to hotels, and the Grand National exceeded every expectation. The rooms are beautifully designed with thoughtful layouts, gorgeous bathrooms, and an interior that feels both luxurious and comfortable. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, the linens are some of the best I’ve ever slept in, and having a Dyson hairdryer was such an amazing touch that made it feel like a true luxury stay. The amenities were exceptional. The complimentary chocolates and snacks were always such a fun surprise, and the toiletry products smelled absolutely beautiful and felt so luxurious. Every little detail had clearly been considered, and it really elevated the entire experience. The location is also unbeatable. Right in the heart of Paddington, it’s an easy walk to bus stops, some of Sydney’s best restaurants, cafés, and beautiful streets to explore. It couldn’t have been more convenient. I’ve stayed in many five star hotels around the world over the years, many of which are considered the nicest in the world, and this one genuinely stands out as one of the very best—not just because of the beautiful rooms and incredible amenities, but because of the people. The staff created an experience I’ll never forget, and they made Sydney feel like home from day one. Thank you to everyone at the Grand National Hotel for your kindness, generosity, and hospitality. I’ll always look back on my time there with the fondest memories, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Sydney.
We had a delightful 1 night stay at the Grand National. The room was so lovely and comfortable every tiny detail well considered and thought through. The team make you feel very special and go out of their way to make your stay as lovely as possible. The interior design, so very luxurious throughout the hotel and the restaurant. I would highly recommend to stay hopefully longer than I night and I would suggest dining in the restaurant Saint Peter - delicious. We will be returning.
We spent one night at the Grand National Hotel in a Grand King Room (I wish it was more)and dined at St. Peters for my husband's 65th Birthday. Wow! Our room was luxurious and inviting and every detail was just impeccable. The location is amazing, walk to shops, eateries and boutiques, only downside is parking thus the 4 stars. We had the 10 course degustation and it was superb. The service was amazing and had the perfect balance of attentiveness but not over crowding you. The open kitchen is also a bonus watching the amazing chefs working so quietly & diligently. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend. Breakfast the next day was also fantastic and seemed more like fine dining. If you are after a special occasion event this is the one, oh and you need to like fish!
What an absolutely magnificent experience for our 30th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived at The Grand National Hotel, the service, attention to detail and atmosphere were exceptional. The hotel perfectly balances boutique luxury with warmth and character, making our milestone celebration feel genuinely special. Dinner at Saint Peter was simply unforgettable. Josh Niland and the entire team delivered a dining experience that was world-class in every sense. The creativity, precision and passion behind every dish were incredible, but what truly stood out was the hospitality from the staff, professional, welcoming and genuinely invested in making the evening memorable. Thank you to everyone involved for helping create such a special anniversary celebration. We left with wonderful memories and cannot wait to return.
