Description
Every winter, humpback whales travel up the east coast of Australia on a migration their ancestors have made for thousands of years. Burri Burri, the whale spirit, holds deep significance on this Country.
This 5 hour experience (6 hours including optional Sydney City pickup) combines a guided walk along the Bondi coastline with an exclusive whale watching cruise on Sydney Harbour. Meet at Bondi Pavilion, welcomed onto Bidjigal Country by Eric Brown, a Traditional Custodian with ancestral connections to the Bidjigal, Dharawal and Gundungarra peoples, authorised by NSW National Parks to interpret sacred rock engravings along the cliff path.
At the lookout, hear the story of Burri Burri while watching for whales passing below. Then head to Rose Bay wharf for native morning tea and a smoking ceremony before cruising Sydney Harbour with an expert whale guide.
