Description
Meet your guide and embark on a 90-minute journey into the Southern Highlands, home to diverse native Australian wildlife. Along the way, learn how to identify wildlife tracks and signs, and hear stories about the creatures you may encounter.
Upon arrival, enjoy a light lunch before discovering local conservation efforts and wildlife tracking techniques. Spend the afternoon exploring bushland and open country populated by birdlife such as kookaburras, rosellas, cockatoos, and possibly emus.
In the late afternoon, watch kangaroos grazing, wallabies moving through the undergrowth, and potentially see the elusive platypus in still waters. As dusk falls, have a hearty dinner at a historic country pub.
After dinner, head out with red spotlights to search for nocturnal marsupials including wombats, possums, and feathertail gliders. Return to Sydney under the stars, enriched with photographs and memories of Australia’s wildlife.
