Description
Join a guided tour of the Sydney Fish Market to learn about its operations and seafood variety. The visit includes access to the auction floor and an explanation of the Dutch auction method that moves massive volumes of fresh seafood to buyers.
Your guide will meet you in the Fish Market foyer located on Level 1 of the main arcade. Enter through the glass doors to the left of the arcade entrance and use the stairs or lift to reach Level 1. Wait on the black couches for your guide.
During the tour, you will encounter over 100 seafood species displayed in the iconic blue crates. Besides the usual selections, expect to discover rare and unusual Australian seafood. Live demonstrations include tuna filleting, live lobster handling, sushi preparation, and oyster shucking.
