Witness the grace, power, and playfulness of humpback whales as they migrate past Sydney. Expect to see behaviors such as breaching, tail slaps, spy hopping, fluke dives, and peduncle throws. Whale season runs from May to November. From May to August, whales travel north to Tropical North Queensland, and from mid-August to November, they return south to the Antarctic, often accompanied by calves.
