Description

Ditch the tourist traps and mechanical rides for the ultimate Blue Mountains adventure! Designed specifically for fit, active travellers and modern explorers, this physically demanding tour swaps crowded cable cars for an immersive, heart-pumping journey deep into the Jamison Valley. Your day begins with a comfortable drive from Sydney, arriving early at Echo Point to conquer the morning light and admire the iconic Three Sisters rock formation before the large crowds arrive. Next, enjoy a guided nature walk to Katoomba Cascades to spot wild cockatoos and colorful native parrots in their natural habitat. The Blue Wander Valley Challenge (Approx. 2.5 Hours): Here comes the highlight of your day. While other tourists queue for the Scenic World rides, you will embark on a thrilling valley hike at your own pace. Before you set off, claim your complimentary 'Blue Wander' trail kit—packed with drinking water and classic Aussie Tim Tam biscuits to keep your energy high! Descend into the abyss via the historic Furber Steps, a steep, breathtaking cliff-side trail that plunges directly into the valley. Once at the bottom, immerse yourself in the ancient ferns and towering canopy of the Jurassic rainforest floor. From the valley, you have two epic options to earn your views back at the cliff top: Option 1: Retrace your steps for a massive leg-burner back up the Furber Steps to Scenic World. Option 2: Trek along the lush Federal Pass and conquer the legendary Giant Stairway—climbing nearly 1,000 steep stone and steel steps directly up to the Three Sisters at Echo Point. After completing your epic hike and reuniting with your group, head to the charming mountain village of Leura for a well-deserved lunch break (at your own expense). We finish the day with sweeping views of the Megalong Valley from a lesser-known lookout before enjoying a relaxing drive back to Sydney. (Important Note: The base price of this tour focuses purely on the physical hiking experience and does not include Scenic World ride tickets. However, Scenic World passes are an optional add-on. If you choose the hike, please note there are no single-trip train tickets available from the valley floor, so you must be fit enough to hike back up the mountain.)

  • FITNESS LEVEL: This is an active tour requiring a moderate to high level of fitness. The valley hike involves navigating steep, uneven terrain and climbing nearly 1,000 stairs.
  • NO RIDES INCLUDED: Scenic World ride tickets are NOT included. You must be fit enough to hike back up the cliff. Weather turning bad or feeling tired? No problem! Unlike strict hiking-only tours, you have the exclusive option to add a full Scenic World ride pass to your booking at checkout and enjoy the views from the comfort of indoor cable cars. (Note: Scenic World no longer sells single-trip tickets at the valley floor).
  • WEATHER & TRACKS: Mountain weather changes rapidly. In the event of severe weather or sudden National Park track closures, your guide will provide safe alternative cliff-top trails.
