*Characterful Hotel At A Reasonable Price* As the name heritage suggests, the fittings & decorations of the Castlereagh Hotel are from another era. They do keep everything well maintained and hygienic and the house keeping is top class. The rooms tend to be small but it's not like you'll play tennis inside. It's Sydney CBD location is closer to the Haymarket end rather than the Rocks and the price has probably reflected this. A 20-30mins slowish walk to the Opera House and there's light rail now anyway. The hotel restaurant is also the venue for theme dinners like Fawlty Towers and Midsummer Nights Murder, which suit the atmosphere to a T.
A lovely place to stay. Beautifully restored historical building with loads of character. And the staff were attentive, helpful and caring. We live in a Northern suburb of Sydney and we wanted to treat ourselves to an impromptu Friday night out. We ate a light dinner in the downstairs Reagh Bar while listening to some excellent young jazz players. A perfect evening. Our room was a generous size and the bed was first class. We did a run in Hyde Park and the Domain in the morning followed by a very good continental breakfast. We will return for some more such impromptu nights out. Thank you.
Fantastic stay at Castlereagh Boutique Hotel. The standout was the service - Stephen at the front desk was exceptional. From check-in he was friendly, professional, and across all the details of our booking, making everything seamless. He also kindly arranged a refurbished room for us, which was a great touch. Throughout our stay he was welcoming, helpful, and took the time to clearly explain everything we needed. We even made a point of stopping by to thank him before we left. Stephen is an absolute asset to the hotel - service like that makes all the difference. Highly recommend.
Stayed for three lots of five nights. Staff-were obliging, attentive and available This is not a 5 star hotel ,and has an appropriate price tag . Our three lots of five nights were good value for money :all the comforts without the price tag. What we really appreciated, was a willingness to do things for us which other places would have charged us for, This is because it is a smaller business not a big one.. This is not a five star hotel together with the Price together with the price and is good value for money with all the creature comforts one needs. Great location in the city. Will use again
Entering the hotel foyer is like stepping back in time while in the heart of Sydney. Well appointed decor. Very quiet in the rooms. Good bathroom facilities. Excellent hot water. Happy hour at the bar was pleasant, though busy on a Friday evening.
