Doyles on the Beach Restaurant

Doyle’s on the Beach is one of those places where the location and the food come together perfectly. We visited on a beautiful sunny day, and the beachfront setting made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. Sitting by the water with the ocean breeze and stunning views was the perfect way to enjoy a long lunch. We ordered the classic fish and chips along with the whole crispy fish topped with a fresh Thai-style herb salad. Both dishes were excellent. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked with light, crispy batter and moist, flaky fish inside. The chips were hot and crunchy, and the fresh salad on the side balanced everything nicely. The whole fish was equally impressive crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the fresh herbs, bean sprouts, cashews, and tangy dressing added plenty of flavour without overpowering the seafood. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Even though the restaurant was busy, everything arrived promptly, and the staff made us feel well looked after. If you’re looking for fresh seafood, spectacular beach views, and a relaxed dining atmosphere in Sydney, Doyle’s on the Beach is definitely worth visiting. It was a memorable lunch, and we’ll happily return to enjoy another sunny afternoon by the water.
We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening after a long day out, and it turned out to be a lovely experience. We were both craving seafood, and this was the perfect spot to satisfy that. We started with the entrée platter - a massive seafood spread with prawn cutlets, grilled scallops mornay, calamari, fresh oysters, and smoked salmon pâté with toasted ciabatta and EVOO. Everything was delicious, and the portion was so large that I was full by the end of it. For mains, I had the grilled barramundi fillet with smoked cauliflower purée, carrots, broccolini, and roasted cherry tomatoes, while my partner ordered the grilled salmon (medium rare) with crispy skin, pine nut and sultana saffron rice, and green beans. I only managed about half of my barramundi because I was already so full, but it was just as enjoyable as the entrée. The service was solid and friendly. We were seated on the second floor, not quite on the balcony overlooking the beach, but close enough to still enjoy the view, which added to the overall experience. Overall, it was a very satisfying seafood dinner.
Great spot with beautiful waterfront views at Doyles on the Beach Restaurant. The seafood was fresh and well cooked, and the overall experience was really enjoyable. Service was good and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal by the water. Only downside is that it’s a bit pricey for what you get, but worth it for the location and experience.
Service is a bit slow and unresponsive. View is great tho. Ordered calamari and oyster for appetizers. Calamari is fresh and the breading was good, oysters on the other hand not so memorable. Mussels and Fried Dory for main. Both are above average but nothing to wow about. Just come here for views and don’t expect a lot.
Absolutely stunning restaurant overlooking Watson bay. Service was incredibly slow took ages to get wine, cocktails and our order for food. However the quality of the food more than made up for it. We ordered bluefin tuna, camembert and oysters for starters and the hot and cold seafood tower and vegan fish and chips for mains. The tower was shared between 3 people and there was ample we didn't finish all of it. Highly recommend
