Did not try the food here but the cocktails were amazing! Tried 4 between the 2 of us and were blown away. The place itself was nice when it was a bit quiet. But popular place will definitely get crowded, thankfully not enough for me to have difficulty chatting. The vibe of the place was nice too. Great and friendly staff.
We had some drinks at this fabulous speak easy type bar!! Very cool, great vibes, great music, Amazing cocktail menu . Such lovely staff.. big shout out to Nacho and Pat!! Great guys. Best bar in Sydney! Don't miss it, floor 4, 199 Clarence St.
OMG! What a find! Oops, maybe I shouldn't be sharing this hidden bar. I had the perfect Martini, enjoying the autumn evening. Then I had another, just to be sure. Old Mate's is a good for a couple, maybe a foursome. Make sure you book ahead if you want to bring along more friends. I loved the vibe and the awesome service.
What a beautiful discovery, we came to Sydney for our anniversary, and I had explored bars close to where we were staying. Old Mates was the last bar, we visited, and we were blown away by the atmosphere, the staff, whose care and attention to detail, and interaction with patrons was genuine and ultra friendly, which encouraged us to come back, for a subsequent visit, upon which we were greeted by our names. Highly recommend, though I would like to keep this bar a secret, we will return every time we visit Sydney for special occasions.
It’s such an amazing bar. The menu is designed around a book theme, which made choosing drinks really fun, and all the cocktails were absolutely delicious. Out of all the music I heard in Australia, this place had the best playlist, lots of old-school hip hop and a young, hip vibe. The bar was packed on Saturday night, and all the staff were incredibly friendly.
