11/10 experience every single time we come to this restaurant. My partner and I started dining here when the restaurant had first opened, and from that very first night knew we would become regulars. We’ve watched this store grow from empty tables to busy tables and full weekends, and despite the growing popularity the service has remained immaculate. Always greeted and welcomed by all staff members on the floor, they are exceptionally attentive and always ensure drinks and starters are offered within minutes of being seated. Food service is always fast and perfectly timed with mains coming out shortly after starters rather than inconsistent wait times like expected at other restaurants. The Lobster Mornay is the most delicious meal I’ve had at a restaurant thus far, and has become our “usual” along with the sourdough and fresh oysters (oysters better than any coast side restaurant I’ve been to seriously the best oysters I’ve ever had). The staff make a genuine effort to take a few minutes making conversation with us, personalising the dining experience and making it a joy to spend our money there. (They also make GREAT espresso martinis GO GIRL 😉) Priced perfectly for the food quality and portion size, if anything we can never finish the whole lot! My partner and I now spend each anniversary there and pop in whenever we’re craving some creamy lobster, fresh oysters and just a pleasant night in general, and will continue to do so. Can definitely see this business thriving and becoming a big name! You guys never disappoint we really commend you on everything!
Took my husband here as a surprise as he loves seafood and I don't so we don't go to seafood restaurants often. Called ahead and asked to surprise him with a pre ordered platter to make sure he got something amazing . The staff were happy to do this for me and they were beyond brilliant in keeping this secret for me when we arrived. The food was divine. Service was next level. Staff amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better meal and experience. Hard to believe that such an amazing seafood restaurant is tucked away in the Hills. We will be back as regulars with our family. Thank you so much for making our date night perfect!
Soooooo yummy! We had the seafood grill for two, and the scallops and pork belly entree. Sooooo deliciously fresh and yummy. The lovely chef came to tell us about it, and mentioned his sauce. We had to call him to give the recipe of his capsicum sauce, was so yummy it went with everything so well. Lovely atmosphere. We will be back with more people!
We dined at Anchor & Ale for the first time tonight to celebrate my husband’s birthday! What a treat. The food was excellent! We ordered the Grilled Platter for two and loved everything on it. I highly rate the calamari! So much flavour. The owner took the time to talk to us and make us feel very welcome in a nice, relaxed environment. Customer service was outstanding. We will definitely be back! A hidden gem of a restaurant for the Hills District. (Note for the owner - I had no reaction to the food at all - just to reassure you. We appreciate your attentiveness. We did not realise there was flour in the lobster.)
