Started with fantastic service. I had mentioned that it was for a birthday and a beautiful handwritten card was placed at our table. Our waitress took our drinks order and came back to take our food order. Our entrees arrived but not our drinks. All our entrees were cold starters and prepared by a chef at the breakfast buffet station. Unfortunately for me I sat opposite this chef and had no choice but to watch them preparing the food 80% of the time with no gloves on and at times touching their face or adjusting their glasses. I really enjoyed the kingfish, crumpet with pate and the steak tartare. The beetroot was pretty tasteless. After we finished our entrees our drinks had still not arrived. Our waitress noticed and followed up. It took 45 minutes for my cocktail to arrive, the other drinks, 2 juices and one glass of wine arrived 5 minutes before mine. There was a long break of about 40 minutes for our mains. We ordered 2 ducks, a steak and one fish with two sides. My duck was disappointing as the duck skin was not crispy, it was quite chewy, I did enjoy the duck sauage, it was a filling meal. The chips were fantastic. We ordered 2 desserts, the tiramisu and sticky date pudding, presentation was 10/10 but I expected more in the flavours. We were also presented with a complimentary slice of cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate. This was a lovely gesture. If my drink arrived before the entree was served and my duck skin was crispy I would have given 5 stars. The special touches are there.
I have visited this restaurant many times, and it never disappoints. The food and service are always excellent, and the beautiful views of Darling Harbour as well. Staff are friendly and attentive, Chloe, Jennie and Suleyman especially made a great impression with their outstanding service. I believe it offers great value for money and will come back again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful dinner experience at BTWN on a Sunday night. We took advantage of their Vivid set menu special. Bring your stomachs because there are a lot of food. The starters were well balanced with flavour. We liked the kingfish and the prosciutto. The mains of duck and crab pasta were generously sized and very tasty as well. The sides of leaves and potatoes rounded out the mains. The dessert were also a highlight. Attentive service and nice atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening.
Absolutely stunning food. The atmosphere was nice at the W hotel and we went to this restaurant using the first table discount. Highlights: Must try - Hokkaido pumpkin with macadamia hummus 10/10 ($36) Kingfish crudo 10/10 Fried chat potato 9/10 Tuna tartare 6/10 (came with lays chips with undermined it's value) Duck breast - 7.5/10 Overall i would definitely return to this fantastic experience just to enjoy the 10/10 dishes
