Zephyr Sky Bar is that perfect “rooftop but make it elegant” moment. We went in for the Suntory Time Japanese Menu and settled into a sunny table with harbour views, letting the afternoon roll all the way into sunset hour. Pacific oysters, a 5-spice pork taco, and a rich chocolate fondant kept arriving at the table, with a Suntory spritz, the Next Parade cocktail, and a glass of Moscato in the mix to keep things pretty. The music was pumping, bartenders were shaking cocktails in the background, and for a few hours, it was just sun on my skin, skyline views, and that soft holiday energy where work and real life can wait. This review is a little belated however we experienced this rooftop experience on the 19th December 2025 and I have to say it was a definite destination experience. With great views of Darling Harbour and Barangaroo from a rooftop in the Hyatt Regency. The food was delicious and fresh, however the service was a little lacking - I'm assuming due to how busy it was. Nonetheless a great experience. Be mindful during the summer, it was extremely hot with the sun hitting hard. A hard price to pay for the view.
I booked Zephyr for a special celebration, for 4 ppl and while the venue itself is beautiful with fantastic views and excellent cocktails, the experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. When making the booking, I left a note kindly requesting a lounge table with a nice view. I completely understand that requests can't always be accommodated, especially on busy weekends. However, when we arrived, there was only one very small standing table reserved for the four of us, in between people's way and even the staff member greeting us wasn't sure where our booking was meant to be. The table was so small that it could barely fit four drinks, let alone the canapés and share plates we had planned to order for our celebration. I politely asked whether we could be moved elsewhere, but was told all tables were already booked, which was understandable. In the end, they simply added another high table next to ours, which made things a little more comfortable, but it felt more like a last-minute fix than an effort to make our celebration special. Even after a second high table was added, space was still very limited. We continued to struggle to fit everything we ordered, and had to keep asking the waitstaff to clear empty glasses and plates to make room. At times, we even found ourselves rushing to finish our drinks and food simply to free up space for the next order. It took away from the relaxed, celebratory atmosphere we were hoping for and made the experience feel unnecessarily cramped. The cocktails were excellent and the atmosphere is undeniably one of the best in Sydney. That said, the drinks are on the expensive side, and for that price, I expected a more thoughtful and welcoming experience, particularly when celebrating a special occasion. Even the photos I took clearly demonstrate that the space provided was insufficient and how uncomfortably cramped our seating arrangement was. Overall, it's a great spot for the views and drinks, but I hope the team places a little more emphasis on booking requests and the overall guest experience in the future.
Super friendly and very accomodating! Host was very attention detailed and made my partner and i feel very welcome. Thevibes are off the charts great, will definitely visit again next time. My partner is a celiac so they are very aware of dietary requirements and keep us and the staff updated. Amazing location, very stylish and classy and would recommend to others. Thank you for having us!
A chilled out rooftop bar on level twelve of the Hyatt Hotel with views of darling harbour. Cocktails are pricey in the range of around 30 to 40 each. Staff and service was excellent. This is a relatively nice and uncrowded spot to enjoy a view of the light shows in darling harbour during Vivid.
