Blu Bar nests itself on level 36 of the Shangri-La Sydney Hotel. This quiet sanctuary evokes a feeling of quiet luxury and stillness. With breathtaking panoramic views overlooking the historic suburb of The Rocks, and sweeping views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, as well as Circular Quay and Barangaroo. Blu Bar is famously known for its premier cocktails, and they are absolutely a treat, a delight and entail a vast array of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage’s that suit any occasion. Blu Bar’s menu is a gourmet experience featuring artistic and creative dishes, from gourmet pasta dishes to duck and meat dishes. With this elegant immersive and premium experience, Blu Bar raises the bar to the next level. This place is for those who seek elevation, seek solitude and quiet luxury, not merely noise but stillness, a sanctuary.

Blue Bar 36 is a great spot in Sydney, especially for the view. It is absolutely stunning, and even more beautiful once night falls with the city lights all around. The cocktail selection is very good, especially the one made with Pisco from Perú (The best one), which was a highlight. The food was decent and enjoyable, but the service felt disorganised at times. For example, we waited around 15 minutes to order dessert, but no one came to take our order. In the end, we decided to leave. Overall, it is still worth visiting for the atmosphere, drinks, and incredible views.
I didn’t know where to start, but to Amy. Ruffa and Jane — all of you were so welcoming, warm, and attentive to my needs during my high tea. I shared that it was my birthday and that I was celebrating it solo while dealing with personal stuff atm but honestly feeling quite lonely. But you all made sure I felt accommodated, happy, and truly special on my birthday. You have no idea how much you lifted my spirits during one of the lowest points in my life 🥹💛 Thank you so much for making me feel so happy today. You are all amazing and provided such outstanding service. It’s been a really tough time for me, but because of you all, I was able to forget everything for a while and feel special on my birthday. Thank you for the lovely conversation, Jane and Ruffa, and to Amy for making sure I got the best photos. And to Ruffa, thank you for your warm and comforting advice — it meant so much, especially coming from a fellow Filipino. I truly felt taken care of and celebrated. I will definitely be coming back. What an amazing location. During my short visit to Sydney I wanted go there. I had read about BLU bar in Sydney Shangri-la. It was a great experience. 5 Stars for it. We walked in during the sunset hour and without any reservation. The front office staff welcomed us and ushered us at one of the best spots in this Bar. It had great 180 degree panoramic view of Sydney CBD from one end the Opera house to Harbour Bridge in the other end. We has some bread with chilled Australian beer while enjoying the view. This is indeed a hidden gem! We were wearing shorts and there was no objections. Located at the 36th floor at Shangri-la building. Prices are extremely reasonable for the service, quality and the view. Highly recommended to visit if you are visiting Sydney.
