Nice little hotel. Wasn't sure what to expect. I did book a compact room, and it was indeed compact. Any movement in the room and it triggers what I think is the exhaust fan as the bathroom is somewhat open to the room. Room so small that there's no chair. Location of the room means it was quite noisy right next to the communal breakfast/ bar area, and main thoroughfare. Up a small alley and behind a heavy duty security gate. 5 minute walk to central station. Was nice, and attention to detail was great, but unfortunately was not for me.
My wife and I loved staying here in Surry hills in one of our many staycations we indulge in. This time it was our 31st wedding anniversary. We love being transported back to Sydney’s old world with all its art and stories. We even wondered who were the nuns that occupied our room over 100 years ago. The front desk crew, the complimentary breakfast and superb coffee, and the art deco design made this old world bring extra life to our stay. I highly recommend the Albion and we can wait to get back there again.
We stayed at the crystal brook for 9 nights and couldn’t have been happier… I would’ve happily stayed forever! The staff were so nice, always welcoming and friendly and always saying hello or goodbye on our way in and out. Nothing was too much to ask for. Especially Chelsea… What an amazing manager you have there! The rooms are beautiful, and super clean. The housekeeping does an amazing job. We loved the decor. The rooftop was really cool and a nice place to unwind after work in the sunshine, didn’t feel like you were in the middle of the city at all! As well as the little happy hour trolley being super cute we also loved the honour bar. And the breakfast was great, some of the best pastries we have had! I think about that almond croissant daily. We highly recommend staying here and we will certainly recommend to all our friends and family when they visit Sydney. Thank you to Chelsea and her team! ☺️
Over the weekend, I had a friend visit from Melbourne and we decided to stay at Crystalbrook Albion thanks to our previous great experiences with the Crystalbrook hotel group. Tucked away down a small side alley, you’d hardly notice it’s there. Once inside, you’re welcomed into a beautifully designed boutique hotel that perfectly balances bold, creative style with classic elegance. We absolutely loved the unique atmosphere. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with warm smiles, all our questions were answered thoughtfully, and the front desk staff even gave us a brief tour of the property so we knew what to expect during our stay. Our room was clean, spacious, and modern, with stylish, high-quality finishes throughout. We were also pleasantly surprised by a small welcome gift and handwritten note, which was a lovely personal touch. The only downside was that our in-room iPad wasn’t working, so we weren’t able to fully enjoy all of the room’s features. Overall, if you’re planning a stay in Sydney, Crystalbrook Albion is a fantastic choice. With its convenient city location, friendly staff, and distinctive ambience, it’s a hotel I would happily recommend.
Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Surrey Hills. Loved the rooms, the style, the decor. The staff was friendly and helpful. Communication was clear and informative. The complimentary food was excellent and the "honor" bar was perfect. We took advantage of The Bunker passes and the gym was spectacular! Highly recommended!!!
