Reviews
Lovely staff. Nice rooms. Love the history of this place it's so gorgeous. Good location on the same road as a lot of stores and cafes while still being off to the side from the hustle and bustle.
I was worried after reading some of the reviews but we may have gotten lucky! My family and I stayed here and although the bar closes quite early and there was a big crack in my TV screen, the rooms were clean and fresh. The bathroom was quite small but had all you'd need really. Although a better cover on the window and some better ventilation would do well. Staff were helpful and friendly and accessing after hours was made simple and communicated very well.
Sad to read of so many negative reviews of other guests. We stayed one night in room 6, which was fine for the very reasonable price. The hotel obviously would benefit from some heavy duty cleaning and improvements. eg carpets etc. Late access instructions were requested and received, so access was easy. Luckily, found street parking very close by. Enjoyable stay. Quite satisfied.
Wonderful staff who enjoy their roles. Hotel is ideally located for the city and Bondi Junction access and I chose it for the proximity to the Mardi Gras parade. Free breakfast was appreciated and GF options were offered. Overall basic value for money accommodation in an historic building between Woollahra and Paddington.
Charming place with tall ceilings, narrow winding staircases and long corridors. Also this place is pet friendly. The room and bathroom was very small probably one of the smallest places I've ever stayed in, only big enough to fit the double bed. Showers have great pressure and temperature, unlike most hotels. Complementary breakfast included. Staff were nice enough, when they're around, not much happens after 3pm. Overall it was an easy and pleasant stay. Reasonably priced $-$$.
