Be sure to grab some peanuts in the shell for an authentic nutty experience typical of classic dive bars.

Shady Pines Saloon, nestled on the lower ground of 222 Clarence Street in Sydney, is a vibrant homage to the traditional Nashville-style honky tonk. Known for its welcoming atmosphere enriched with Southern charm, this venue is decked out with vintage taxidermy, dusty furs, and nostalgic southern knick-knacks. One of my go-to bars in Sydney. Always a cozy time, like stepping into an American cabin, drinking freshly made apple juice with house-made whiskey, alongside complimentary beer nuts. The whiskey apples taste dangerously good, particularly during happy hour (4-6pm). Also appreciate their live music and comfy booth seating. Recommend trying their cinnamon apple whiskeys!

This is a proper old school honky tonk bar. The decor, the lighting, the live jive band full of energy and passion and talent, but the bar serving some insanely tasty signature cocktails that will keep you tipsy and happy. Just sitting down and having a drink and feeling like you’ve been transported straight into an old saloon, it’s hard to find, but this bar has nailed it. Staff are also incredibly amazing, up for a chat and a laugh and you can tell they love it, big props to Emily and Brendan. Genuine must visit.

Great time (and I was solo) the band that played at Shady Pines the night I went was REALLY GREAT and that's from a girlie not so into country. The bar does not have food but you can order delivery or bring food in if you like. The only thing I can say neg is it can be hard to find especially if your already a few 🍸 🍹 🍺 in 😆
