Reviews
Honestly, this place has the best omakase option in the entire sydney. Having been to several Japanese Omakase restaurants over the years in sydney (and Japan), this is still hands down my favourite place. The name speaks for itself right? But also I love this place the most because the chef and staff are always super friendly and warm. You are also guaranteed to leave feeling full unlike some other places. The sushi and raw seafood is always fresh and it’s just an overall amazing and intimate experience (as there’s usually only around 12 people or so). My only complaint is that it’s bloody impossible to book the date and times I want for this place. Probably because it’s so damn good. I would’ve visited at least 2-3 times more if not for the fact that it was booked out already months in advance 😢
I’m still in awe— one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Every dish was executed by chef with incredible precision and packed with deep, umami-rich flavours. Each course was thoughtfully composed in terms of taste and presentation, and they all sang on the palate. I opted for the sake pairing ($185), and every selection came with detailed introduction by lovely staff Haruna and each glass complemented the dishes beautifully. The service was impeccable—we felt well looked after throughout the evening. So so good. A truly memorable meal - I’ll gladly return to for a special occasion.
This hidden omakase not only offered an exceptional culinary experience but also provided live interaction with the chefs and other diners. It all started with a jewel-like oyster topped with tosa ponzu jelly, followed by a mystery box filled with fresh sashimi, including my favorite lobster sashimi. Next came the the best Chawanmushi, following a Saikyo-style fish dish, and then three different preparations of Kagoshima Wagyu! The sushi selection surprised me in a wonderful way; my favorite was the cuttlefish, perfectly balancing various textures, finished off with an incredibly refreshing yuzu sorbet. It was a solo dinner on a Tuesday night, starting at 5:30PM, yet all eight seats were fully booked. The manager / sommelier noticed that one guest was celebrating her birthday, and their attentive service truly made her day. A surprise candle and a birthday song added a warm, homely touch. I’d be happy to return solo again, perhaps to enjoy a nightcap with a very special Japanese whiskey at the bar.
This was the single best dining experience we have ever had. Chef Michi was so detailed in his explanations and took the time to answer any questions we had and tell us about his techniques and approaches. As big foodies we loved the intimate experience. The waitress was also amazing and spent time explaining all the different sakes to us as well as the history behind the different brands. It was amazing to see so much fresh Australian seafood highlighted in the menu. We got a couple of drinks at the bar beforehand and again, the staff were amazing and the drinks were phenomenal. I honestly don't have enough good things to say about this experience. Worth every single penny. After the 12 courses we left feeling absolutely elated, practically vibrating out of the restaurant. One for the books and a meal we will never forget
This is my first Omakase experience, and can honestly say: no words can describe the overall experience, the tasting of all courses provided, the friendliness of the staff both on stage and the floor. The chef and team presented amazingly beautiful dishes, very articulate with their explanations and stories behind each produce used in their dishes, presented in such a way where you need to make a serious decision on whether to eat it or admire its beauty. He took time to have colloquial conversions with us in between preparing and serving the courses which made the experience feeling more personalised. Highly recommend going here to experience the culinary excellence! Thank you to the team for making our visit a memorable one! We look forward to returning!
