We had such a lovely long lunch at Lavana in Walsh Bay. The waterfront location is beautiful, and with the sunshine reflecting over the harbour, the atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect. We started with their pink house special cocktails, which were refreshing and beautifully presented. For food, we ordered the Lobster Roll, Kingfish Ceviche, Oysters, Handmade Dumplings, and the signature Lobster Ravioli. The oysters were incredibly fresh—creamy, plump, and perfectly briny. My favourite dish was definitely the signature Lobster Ravioli. It was rich, silky, packed with flavour, and something I'd happily come back for. The Kingfish Ceviche was also fresh and well-balanced, and every dish was beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive throughout the meal, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a waterfront restaurant with great food, delicious cocktails, and stunning harbour views, Lavana is definitely worth a visit.
We had a great lunch at Lavana - group of 6 people. Joe was awesome and looked after us really well. The food was awesome. Venue has great water views. Will be back for sure 😊
Dined at Lavana in Walsh Bay and firstly, the view of the Wharf was beautiful and had such a lovely atmosphere from sunset to night. Every dish was fresh, delicate and full of flavours. The Morton Bay Rock Oysters were one of the best I’ve had (fresh, flavour & texture) just right! Sea Scallps were delectable with the perfect pairing of sauce escabeche! Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviche was a very decent serving! For the Main I tried the WA Lobster Ravioli (also filled with blue swimmer crab & prawns)! Slow cooked in a beautiful tomato Sugo - highly recommend and also had the Wagu Tenderloin MBS 4+ (280g) with Classic Bordelasise Jus - everything was perfect and fills you up while feeling good not heavy and sluggish. Such a wonderful experience and looking forward to coming back! Thank you 😊 To see the Live “Dine with me Experience” Reel I made from the night I visited, you can find it on my Insta & TikTok @fooddiariesbyfrida Thank you🫶🍽️🥂❤️ Frida fooddiariesbyfrida
We dined at Lavana Restaurant in Dawes Point (Walsh Bay) and the harbourside location is definitely a highlight. Beautiful waterfront views, especially around sunset, and the ambience is calm and romantic — perfect for a relaxed lunch, dinner, or special occasions like Valentine’s Day or anniversaries. We started with the Moreton Bay rock oysters, which were plump and sweet. The burnt maple and finger lime vinaigrette paired really well and added a nice touch. The WA lobster ravioli was the standout dish of the night — easily my favourite. The tomato sauce tasted fresh, and the ravioli was well executed with great umami flavours coming through from the lobster, prawn, and crab. We also tried the marinated wild mushrooms, which were a bit average for me, but as a mushroom lover I still enjoyed them. The Wagyu Westholme centre-cut tenderloin (MBS 4+) was decent — the centre was good, though the outside was slightly dry. The sauce helped bring it together. We finished with the chocolate hazelnut mousse. I usually prefer darker chocolate, but the texture and consistency of the mousse were excellent. Overall, a lovely dining experience with a great view, strong pasta dish, and romantic setting. Would recommend for a special occasion or waterfront date.
Amazing moment at this wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent (Mediterranean food), the cocktails delicious and the service as well. I recommend the Caipiroska! The restaurant is located in a quiet and beautiful place close to Darling Harbour, with a view on the Harbour. Lavana is a very classy and chic place to have dinner with you family, friends or even for a date 😉 You can go for it with you eyes closed!! Kelly, the manager, will welcome you warmly. The waiters will be attentive and ready to give you advice. Thank you so much, I will come back for sure.
