Description

The day starts with pickup from your accommodation and we then head to the Royal National Park. Upon reaching the park, we will have a short stop at serene Audley Weir. From here the tour is flexible and we can choose between visiting Wedding Cake Rock, Eagle Rock or a walk in the rainforest. All three places require a hike ranging from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. The first two places allow us to see wonderful coastal scenery. Your guide will outline the walk times and differences between the two. The third walk is through an enchanting rainforest with ferns, cabbage tree palms and giant red cedar trees. If you'd prefer not to do the walks we can visit several places further south of the park, such as the Otford Lookout, Coledale Beach and the iconic Imperial at Clifton Hotel. If you choose to walk to Wedding Cake Rock we will admire dramatic coastal views of cliffs and unusual sandstone formations. Upon arrival, discover an amazingly large piece of white sandstone, resembling the shape of a wedding cake. Watch as it sparkles against the background of the blue Pacific Ocean. A little further on is spectacular Marley Beach, which is viewed from a high lookout point. Marley Beach is an expansive landscape merging into sand dunes. Behind the dunes is a pristine freshwater lagoon. Alternatively choose the Eagle Rock walk and follow a track that passes waterfalls, cliffs, and massive cliffs. See many native plants including Wattles, Banksias, Grass Trees and Gymea Lillies. We will see native birds including the Australian Raven and New Holland Honeyeater. If lucky we may come across an echidna. Upon arrival at Eagle Rock admire crystal clear Curracurrong Creek as it reaches the cliff edge and drops directly into the ocean below. The waterfall drops 40 meters into a shallow bay and if sunny the ocean water takes on a translucent green color. When the surf is up you'll hear the pounding waves hit the cliff face below. After either Eagle Rock or Wedding Cake Rock, venture to Wattamolla, which has a wide waterfall dropping into a lagoon. The lagoon then forms into a stream that gently meanders to the nearby beach. Enjoy a refreshing lunch prepared by your guide. From this point, discover the areas south of the park such as Bald Hill and Sea Cliff Bridge, or make our way to Symbio Wildlife Park where many native animals live - koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, kangaroos, wallabies, Tasmanian Devils, emus, cassawarries and little penguins. The park allows you to get up close to the kangaroos and wallabies and feed them grass should we so choose. This is a private tour reserved for your group only. We save time by not having to wait for or pick up and drop off people at other locations. The tour is completely flexible and your knowledgeable guide will make suggestions based on what you want to do. At the end of the day we will return you to your accommodation having had a day in nature to remember.
